音楽家のヤン富田氏は著書のなかで、かつて試したある作曲法について書いている。まずはレコード屋さんへいき、もっともかっこいいジャケットデザインのレコードを買ってくる。しかし、レコードを聴いてはならない。ジャケットを眺めながら「このレコードに収録されているのはいったいどういう音楽か」を想像し、作曲をするのだ。
